Branding photography is custom designed to fit each person’s niche. The branding photography that I specialize in is women entrepreneurs. I create custom packages for each person’s needs.
A fun way to keep your audience connected and engaged is by capturing glimpses of what you actually do. One client who comes to mind is a photographer. Since she’s usually the one behind the camera, I came along on one of her photoshoots and captured her in action – along with her client to give the viewer a sense of what she does on location.
An easy way to showcase your work – through visuals. Another client of mine is a business coach. Since her actual office wasn’t ideal for photography, we created the idea of an office in my studio with the help of a comfortable couch and some house plants. Throw in a trusted friend to sit in as a client and you have yourself one beautiful on the job scene. Of course I photograph actual on the scene images, like my client who is an international speaker. But for some professions where my clients have their own clients who wish to be discreet, a stand in can be quite helpful!
When booking a session we discuss these idea thoroughly. Branding photography is such a personal thing, and it’s important to discuss the vision for the photoshoot.
Photoshoots can last half of a day, a full day, and also multiple days. If I’m shooting in studio, depending on the situation, I usually will shoot the location shots on a separate day. These may be on the beach, at my client’s place of work, and other locations.
Branding photography is used in such a wide array.
During the pre-photoshoot stage, we discuss how the pictures will be distributed. This part of the process is helpful for delivering image sizes tailored to your needs. It’s more desirable for the cropping to be done in camera for better quality images. So for example, if you know that the majority of your images will be used for Instagram reels or TikTok, you would want plenty of pictures in the 9:16 aspect ratio. On the other hand, if you’re wanting more website images or Facebook posts, you may opt for a 1:1 or 4:5 aspect ratio.
Another idea we would discuss is wardrobe. Not just how many wardrobe changes there would be, but also when to wear each outfit. There are many reasons for deciding what and when to wear something. One example is this: I had a client who had 2 outfits. One was tight and form fitting and the other was loose and flowy. After discussing many ideas, we came to the decision that she would wear the more form fitting one first. This is because after having lunch catered at the studio, she would feel more comfortable in something looser. These notions may seems small, but when you’re investing quite a bit of money into branding photography, you want to look and feel your best during the entire shoot!
